San Hima 12V 360W Folding Solar Blanket Flexible Blanket Kit Camping Charger

Folding solar blankets promise the output of a full-size panel without the bulk of a rigid one — but that flexibility usually costs you somewhere, whether it's a cheap PWM controller, thin cabling, or connectors that don't hold up to repeated packing and unpacking. San Hima's 360W blanket kit is built to avoid those compromises: a proper 20A MPPT controller, Anderson-style plugs on every lead, and cells rated at 24% conversion efficiency, all packed into an 8.7kg fold up carry case.

Key features

  • 360W folding blanket built on HPBC (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact) cells, rated at 24% conversion efficiency
  • 20A MPPT controller (not PWM), rated to 500W max PV input, with a physical battery-type selector for Lead Acid, AGM, GEL, Calcium and LiFePO4
  • Anderson-style plugs throughout the kit — panel, 4.5m extension lead and alligator-clip lead all use the same connector
  • Packs down to 478 x 430 x 95mm and 8.7kg, from a 2,860 x 960mm panel area when unfolded
  • Built-in USB-A and USB-C ports (5V/2.4A) on the controller for direct device charging
  • Reverse polarity, overcurrent, over/undervoltage and short-circuit protection built into the controller
  • 2 year warranty

First Impressions

"First-class from the moment you open the box. The packaging is exceptionally secure, featuring robust boxing and protective layers designed to guarantee it arrives completely intact without a scratch. Even the fabric quality of the dual-purpose carry case and protective covers is top-tier.

Moving on to the hardware, every single connection is superbly constructed. Every Anderson plug comes with its own protective cover, and the heavy-duty cable quality is easily tier-one. From unboxing to closely inspecting the components and fittings, the overall build quality is simply outstanding. I'm thoroughly impressed!"

RV use case

Suits caravan, motorhome and camper trailer owners who want more solar capacity than a small suitcase-style panel provides, but don't want to permanently mount rigid panels to the roof — laid flat beside the rig, it's easy to reposition through the day as the sun moves.

Pros

  • Hardware quality across the kit holds up on inspection — every lead terminates in the same Anderson-style plug, each with its own protective cover, and the cabling itself is noticeably heavier gauge than budget kits ship with
  • Packaging on arrival was properly protected — solid boxing plus separate covers for the panel and carry case, arrived without a mark
  • Real MPPT rather than PWM, so charge efficiency isn't lost to a cheaper controller
  • Physical battery-type selector (Lead Acid/AGM/GEL/Calcium/LiFePO4) rather than a single fixed charge profile
  • In a real-world test under slightly overcast skies, the panel was still pulling 17.72A into the battery (17.72A × 13.9V ≈ 246W) — a strong result for less-than-ideal sun

Cons

  • No integrated legs or stand — it lies flat or leans against something to angle it toward the sun, unlike rigid folding suitcase-style panels with a built-in kickstand

Best for

Caravan and motorhome owners who want more portable solar capacity than a small suitcase kit, without permanently mounting a rigid panel to the roof.

Verdict

Properly specced hardware — real MPPT, Anderson connectors throughout, solid packaging on arrival — with the one trade-off any flexible blanket makes: no built-in stand, so it's propped or laid flat. Output has already been confirmed in one overcast-day test at 17.72A (≈246W); full-sun output still to be logged on a clear day.
